If your previous measurement experience is using a tape measure or Disto, making the step to 3D measurement can seem daunting. But like many things in life, once you have knowledge & experience, 3D measurement can be rewarding and fulfilling.
Course One starts with the basics of setting up & operating a Leica BLK360 & through a number of exercises we build up your knowledge so you have a complete grasp of the fundamentals of Reality Capture using a Terrestrial Laser Scanner.
Each exercise has 2 parts. Part A is field work & we show you how to setup & capture a project step by step using a Leica BLK360 & Leica Field 360 App. Part B shows you how to process the project in Leica Cyclone Register 360 PLUS and you will use the exact same data to follow along at your own pace. You will learn a number of workflows as well as strategies to help overcome hurdles that can happen when working in the real world.

There could be a number of reasons for why you want to update your knowledge and Course One has been designed to address the broad range of project types that Terrestrial Laser Scanners are used for in modern workflows. Exercises such as the Steel Trestle Bridge, Railway Tank Carriage and Natural Creek are indicative of this large variety.

With all the advancements we are seeing in technology and AI, Terrestrial Laser Scanners are still the go to tool for Reality Capture when accuracy and a level of certainty is required. If you want a project to go from concept to a physical reality, somebody will need to take actual measurements in the real world.
Instruments such as Leica's BLK360 and bigger brother RTC360 are now used by a broad base of users not only in the AEC sector but also Media & Entertainment, Facility Management, Manufacturing, Mining, Public Safety and Accident Investigation.
The chances are high that your university or department already have a BLK360 so using the tools you have, makes sense. While Leica's Cyclone Register 360 PLUS software is not the only Reality Capture software available, the success of Leica's BLK360 & RTC360 means that students entering the work force will likely encounter Cyclone Register 360 PLUS more than other solution.
Course One can be used as the ground point for your Reality Capture classes enabling you to easily add other avenues to explore such as SLAM, Gaussian Splats, Photogrammetry etc.
